The project involves the reconstruction and construction of water management facilities in Issyk-Kul, Batken, Talas and Chui Oblasts. After their commissioning, 5,410 hectares of newly irrigated lands will be put into operation and water supply in the area of 22,100 hectares will be increased. In general, the implementation of the project will create jobs for 40,000 rural residents throughout the country. [1]
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan established a tender commission, and the tender documentation for the construction of irrigation facilities was handed over to the Chinese side. At least $32 million, allocated in the form of a grant by China for the construction of six water facilities, will be spent on the project.[2]
