Description of the project

In 2014 Tajik Government signed an agreement with Chinese Dongying Heli Investment and Development to fund the construction of a refinery on the territory of the Dannghara free economic zone. A joint venture “TK-Oil” was established to carry out the whole construction processes. 90% of the JV belongs to the Chinese side. [1]

The capacity of the refinery will be 300,000 tonnes in the first phase and 1.2 mln tonnes in the second phase. 

Initially, the plant will produce diesel fuel, building bitumen and low-octane gasoline AI-80, AI-92. Later, the company's management intends to produce such European brands of gasoline as Euro-4 and Euro-5. In addition, the plant will produce liquefied natural gas, diesel fuel and paraffin. [2]

36 people are currently working in the refinery, including 21 local employees and 15 foreign workers. It is expected that 1,200 permanent jobs will be created.
