Description of the project

In December 2019 a new chemical complex in the Navoi region was inaugurated. The construction work was carried out by a consortium of Chinese companies: China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. and HQC (Shanghai). The complex will produce 100,000 tonnes of import-substituting polyvinyl chloride, 75,000 tonnes of caustic soda and 300,000 tonnes of methanol annually. The company aims to export more than 50% of its products. [1]

The NavoiAzot chemical company was the largest chemical company in the country, with very energy-intensive production facilities. A new joint venture has replaced and enriched the variety of products produced locally. The project has changed Uzbekistan's dependence on imports of PVC, caustic soda, and created a large number of new jobs, which is of great significance to the economic development of Uzbekistan.[2]
