Description of the project

Chinese owned Qinghai Desheng Soda Ash Industrial Co. Ltd invested $ 232 mln into the construction of the first soda ash production plant in Kazakhstan. 100 hectares of land has been allocated to the project and with an expected completion date in 2020.

The annual production capacity of the plant will be 200 - 300 thousand tons of raw materials per year. This will greatly reduce dependence on foreign imports from Russian which exceeds 400 thousand tons annually. Product from the plant will be supplied to consumers such as the metallurgical and chemical industries, as well as glass producers. The Chinese funded glass facility being built in Kyzylorda will be the largest consumers of soda ash in Kazakhstan. [1]

The project includes the construction of a production unit, a storage facility, a supply unit, an administrative facility and parking facilities, and the installation of machinery and safety equipment.[2]
